| COLGATE REUNION IN KENYA |
|
|
| Magda, Stacy '88, Nicole '89 and Dave '87 meet in Nairobi |
A blast from the Past! It
has been 20 years since my friends Nicole (Class of '89) and Dave (Class of '87) met on the Colgate campus.

When I first attended Colgate University in 1984 I was a young and nieve student who thought I knew everything. Yet
it was through Colgate that my interest in Africa began to blossom. My first experience with African politics was when
we protested Apartheid which ultimately led to Colgate University divesting its investments and well, the rest is history.
Mandela was set free and South Africa was on the path do democracy. In 1988, when I graduated with
a degree in Education, I continued to pursue my interest in Africa. I worked for many organizations doing work for Africa,
but now I am living the dream, I am living in Kenya. Thank you Colgate for opening my eyes to the world!

Giraffe Manor in Nairobi is a must visit site!
Although we only had one hour to visit each other, it was well worth the 20 year wait. We reminisced about the
good old Colgate days and I was brought up to date on all american sports by Dave, a fellow sports fanatic. I get very
few visitors so to have some old college friends visit was a blessing.
