Kenya has been blessed with an array of elite athletes. Most notably, the track and field athletes excelled at the World Championships, only coming in second to the USA. It is amazing when you think that most of their athletes come from rural country settings with no electricity, water, sewers or any of the basic essentials of life, including food. Yet it is amazing that through all the adverse circumstances, certain young people excell and become examples for others.

When athletes excell it gives groups of people a sense of pride. When I was in Kenya, I could see hope in the eyes of the Kenyans as they proudly watched their athletes win championship after championship.

Everyone is cheering for Kenya

It was amazing to watch a track and field event with such enthusiasm. There was music, drinks, food and even activities for children. It truly was a day to remember.
